License Model UPPS! Extensions

For the use of UPPS! Extensions, one UPPS! Extensions license file is required for each Polarion instance.

If the Polarion installation comprises ...

• only one Polarion instance, the scope of the license for each UPPS! Extension is determined by the corresponding Polarion license file
• several Polarion instances, then the license scope per UPPS! Extension is determined by the Polarion license file on the coordinator, and each Polarion instance has one and the same UPPS! Extensions license file according to the installation-wide Polarion license scope

For each UPPS! Extension there are two license types: Evaluation License and Production License.

• An evaluation license allows the use of the UPPS! Extension on all Polarion instances of a Polarion installation in all Polarion projects for a period of 100 days, including updates to UPPS! Extension versions that are released during the evaluation period. We provide an evaluation license for one or more UPPS! extensions per organization and Polarion installation on request free of charge.
• A production license allows the permanent use of the UPPS! Extension on all Polarion instances of a Polarion installation in all Polarion projects, including updates to later released UPPS! Extension versions until the end of the second calendar year after the production license has been put into operation. We provide a production license for one or more UPPS! Extensions per organization and Polarion installation after confirmation of our offer or receipt of a formal order.

The one-time license fee per UPPS! Extension is calculated as follows:

• License factor
  (number of named licenses for Polarion ALM, REQ, QA and PRO)
  + 2 * (number of concurrent licenses for Polarion ALM, REQ, QA and PRO),
  minimum 50 and maximum 500

• License fee
  = free of charge for AM-PACK licensees or
  = icense factor * license index * 0.5 for recognized educational institutions or
  = icense factor * license index for every other licensee
  plus statutory VAT for licensees in Germany

UPPS! Extension licenses can only be purchased by organizations - profit and non-profit organizations, public administration institutions and recognized educational institutions - via a person representing them. The basis for this is the data provided to us via the request for quotation.

From the beginning of the third calendar year after the production license has been taken into operation, an update fee of 20% of the then valid license fee for the production license used is to be paid at the beginning of each year for keeping the production license up to date – updates are provided at our discretion, but at least immediately after the release of each Polarion major version.

By installing, copying, saving on your computer, or otherwise using our UPPS! Extensions, you become a party to our Terms and Conditions and our Software License Agreement and you are consenting to be bound by all the terms and conditions of these documents.
